Motion & Character Design

Design a character and bring it to life through movement. Explore personality, shape language, and storytelling through gesture and animation principles.

This project pushed me beyond my usual animated motifs into the more intricate rhythm of a walk cycle. It became an exercise in restraint, simplifying forms while keeping expression alive. Some definition was lost in the final GIF, partly due to resolution limits, but the process reminded me that motion isn’t about perfection; it’s about energy and flow. Each frame became a lesson in letting go and allowing movement to tell its own story.

I don’t have a separate character design for this project, as I jumped straight into creating the walk cycle and later added the backgrounds. Below is the three parts of the GIFs shown individually, followed by the final version combining all elements into one cohesive sequence.
