Deliverables:

  • 1 completed illustration focused on composition

  • 2–3 composition studies or layout tests

  • Short written reflection on choices and message

It was difficult for me to choose an exhibition theme since I didn’t feel a strong connection to any of them at first. However, I decided to focus on robots, as they suited my illustration style and felt closest to portraiture — they are, in a way, designed to resemble humans.

My process began with research into different robots featured in the exhibition. I selected three examples that reflected the idea of robots becoming increasingly human-like. To make the concept more engaging and relatable, I included two iconic robots from film history — familiar references that could attract attention and create curiosity for a future exhibition.

After exploring several sketches, I returned to what I know best: portraiture. I chose the robot from Metropolis because it’s highly recognizable and a clear depiction of the humanoid form. To enhance the digital presentation, I created a GIF/video mockup, imagining how the artwork could appear interactively on a website.
